Listen, there is a rumbling of thunder.

It's raining! It's raining! It's raining! For many, this chant will sound annoying. To us, here in a parched county desperate for rain, it is music to our ears. Last evening when the rain started, then lightening and thunder followed, one could almost sense the earth exclaiming a huge sigh of relief. We shouted a little too!

All of humanity is in need of renewal and refreshing and Jesus Christ is just the one to do it. Folks trying to live in arid places are in danger of spiritual dehydration. A host of problems arise and take the form of lost jobs, divorce, diseases and broken relationships. The longer sin and stress reside in us the more likely our lives will continue to suffer spiritual erosion. Listen, I hear a rumbling of thunder.

Have you sensed your life isn't what you had planned or dreamed it would be? Listen, there is a distant rumbling of thunder. Does your life journey consist of dust clouds and choking heat? Listen, there is a rumbling of thunder.

Evil in our world threatens to diminish joy and take away our hope but God has another option. In the fullness of time, God sent us a refreshing response to dry broken lives caught in sin. Jesus Christ came to save and he has! Listen, I hear a rumbling of thunder.

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the

full." (John 10:10, NIV)

Take heart friends, your life eroded by sin is about to receive healing. Ask Jesus to bring new life to your old suffering. He can do it. He wants to do it. There, if you asked Him just now, he did it! Bring the rain.
