Go ahead, be silly!

Have you ever suffered a goose egg on your head from a low hanging obstacle? Ha. Ha. I feel like my head was a continuous goose egg when I was much younger. I was always hitting my head on something. Made my mother's life more difficult. She was always worried about me...

Reminds me of the time the select choir from Lock Haven was touring England, Wales, and Scotland. In one little hillside tavern we visited, we noticed the entrance door was probably about 5 feet 5 inches high. We literally had to stoop to enter. Once inside, we noted a sign over the doorway into the gathering area. "Duck or Grouse" Hmm, wonder what that means? On the other side of the doorway was another sign that read, "No Bloody Swearing!"

It took a while, but we realized the warning on the first side of the door was a pun (sort of). If one doesn't duck you'll be grousing about the knot on your forehead. (*insert snicker here) Humor, even in a weird kind of way is good for the soul and heart. Laughter and generally being giddy and happy with life feeds the soul rather than drain one's spiritual fuel tank.

"A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." (Proverbs 17:22, NIV)

The writer of this proverb saw value in a heart that is joy-filled and joyful. The author also warned of

consequences when one walks about defeated all the time.

A few weeks ago, we did some shopping at a major hunting store in east PA and had a little fun.

Folks, it's okay to have fun in life. It's okay to be a little goofy once and awhile. It's okay to feed our heart and soul so that dryness and brittleness don't creep in and crush us. Taking selfies of the moment is highly encouraged.

PS: Those hats were incredibly cool....and extremely hot all at the same time.

PSS: If you choose to be goofy and take selfies, please share them so we can smile with you!
