THANK YOU!!

August 8, 2015

Yesterday, I was thankful for two trucks that went by our house. Yes, I know I need to get a life if trucks stir my heart.  Wait, this is important stuff.

The first truck arrived around 8:30 AM and removed the garbage we had set out the night before. Where would we be without men and women who work tirelessly day after day caring for garbage and recycling? Have you considered getting up a bit earlier on garbage pick-up day (especially hot humid days) and set out cold gatorades and water for the crews? Leave them a note of thanks and bless them.

2Thessalonians 1:3 We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your

faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing.

The other truck arrived around 1:30-ish. You could hear it coming a half a mile away. The happy little tune that blared from the loud speaker drew my attention. Yes, it was the ice-cream truck and it was coming our way. Working outside in the yard in the hot sun was going to be rewarded with a cool treat. I had a fudge cicle. Thanks Tracie (aka Honeybear)!

I'm convinced our lives increase in purpose and worth when our hearts turn a corner and begin to measure each moment in thanksgiving.  We have to choose gratitude and then live with a "thank you" pursed on our lips ready to bless another human being.  John Maxwell, author and leadership guru, shares this quote,

“The greatest day in your life and mine is when we take total responsibility for our attitudes. That's

the day we truly grow up.” ― John C. Maxwell

Have a blessed day. Thank you for being an important part of my life. Share grace with another person.
