Prep for the procedure.

For some, this picture won't mean a thing and for others, they'll understand.  Proper maintenance of our bodies sometimes requires tests and medical procedures that reveal health or the lack thereof. Over five years ago, I underwent my first colonoscopy. The doctor discovered some abnormal polyps and removed them.  At that point, my ten year cycle for colonoscopies reduced to every five years since I moved into a different risk category.

The prescribed over the counter products (pictured here) effectively prepare my body for the next procedure this coming Tuesday. I'll begin a process that will start Monday and finish up Tuesday afternoon.

"Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.  Surely you desire truth in the

inner parts; you teach me wisdom in the inmost place. Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash

me, and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed

rejoice. Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and

renew a steadfast spirit within me." (Psalm 51:5-10, NIV)

The good Lord wants us to be growing spiritually every day and desires health for us in three areas: physical, emotional, and spiritual. Inarguably, the most important area of our life is our soul. God desires to inspect our soul and remove the curse of sin that threatens to destroy us. He does that with a procedure known as the man and Savior Jesus Christ. If there are soul threatening polyps (sin) that need to be removed, Jesus does it. How is your health? Spiritual? Physical? Emotional? Are you due for a procedure? Allow God to inspect your heart and mind. Allow Him to cleanse you. He can do it.

Through confession and repentant hearts, let's allow God to inspect us, remove sin, and restore meaningful life.  This isn't a five or ten year schedule but everyday.
