I love whoopie pies ----- and now you know why I run. I especially prefer the peanut butter icing between those soft yummy chocolate cookies or are they chocolate whoopies or are they chocolate pies? Anywho, they are good. So good that a few weeks ago, I was savoring one and happened to drop a rather large chunk of whoopie pie on the carpet.
I hopped off the stool and retrieved the piece and never considered the five second rule. Psssh! Whoopie pies are whoopie pies!! The five second rule is a farce. Saw that on Myth Busters once. The stuff (bacteria) that accumulates on a fallen morsel if seen under a microscope might make you think twice about exercising that rule....but whoopie pies are whoopie pies!!
The image shown here is the focal point of this musing. Hopefully, what I am about to tell you might bring a smile to your face this dreary Monday morning. Here goes.
Right after I scooped the fallen whoopie pie chunk off the carpet, I noticed another piece of goodness lying a few inches from the first. Hmmm, how did I miss that piece falling to the floor??? It was a bit dark in the room and I did not have my glasses on so I reached over, grabbed the second piece, and ate it. Something didn't feel right nor did it taste anything like whoopie pie. I quickly expelled the faux piece of whoopie goodness and looked more closely. Yep, you guessed it. It was a fuzz ball....and in hindsight, it could have been worse.
Apparently, my cabin socks had these fuzzies accumulating on the inside and when I took them off out popped the fuzz ball (aka whoopie pie morsel).
Hopefully by now, you have snot blowing out your nose from laughing so hard. That was my main purpose today. I wanted to give you something to smile about. Your imagination can fill in all the details of my mistaken identity of the whoopie pie debacle. You are most welcome. Now, go out and have a great Monday. I know you will because even you can tell the difference between whoopie pie and fuzz balls.
